and Nagar Haveli |
 |
The
Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli is located on the
western coast, just 12 kms north-west of Daman with a small
part of Gujarat (Vapi) separating the two. Dadra is quite small,
with only two villages apart from Dadra. Nagar Haveli consists
of 69 villages of which Silvassa, the capital of Dadra and Nagar
Haveli is one. Three kms of Gujarat territory separate Dadra
from Nagar Haveli. More than 75 percent of the population comprises
of tribals and 40 percent of the Union Territory is reserved
forests, rich in flora and fauna.
Wonderful natural vistas, sparkling rivers, rolling hills, well
maintained gardens and lush forests make Dadra and Nagar Haveli
worth a visit. In fact the beauty and serenity of the place
makes this tourist destination a heaven for those seeking a
